What Is Creatio? The Complete Guide for 2026

· · 11 min read · Updated Apr 28, 2026

Bottom line. Creatio is a no-code platform that combines CRM (Sales, Service, Marketing) with business process automation. Founded 2002, headquartered in Boston, valued at $1.2B, deployed in 100+ countries, recognized by Gartner, Forrester, and IDC across multiple categories. Strongest for mid-market deployments (100–1,000 users) in process-heavy industries: financial services, manufacturing, pharma, franchise. The reason it appears on analyst quadrants alongside companies ten times its size is the depth of its no-code Studio and the BPM engine underneath the CRM.

If you are researching CRM platforms, you have probably seen Creatio’s name on a Gartner quadrant or a Forrester wave and wondered what exactly this platform is, and why analysts keep ranking it next to much larger vendors.

This guide answers that in full. We are a Creatio specialist firm, with 10 products on the Creatio Marketplace and more than a decade of hands-on build experience across 50+ implementations run by other firms who brought us in for the technical work. That includes a clear view of the platform’s limitations, and this guide covers those too.

Creatio in One Sentence#

Creatio is a no-code platform that combines CRM (sales, service, and marketing) with business process automation, recognized by Gartner, Forrester, and IDC across multiple categories.

That single sentence contains the parts that matter: it is no-code, it combines CRM with BPM, and major analysts validate it.

The Three Products#

Creatio delivers CRM functionality through three integrated products: Sales, Marketing and Service. They are composable modules on top of the platform, priced at $15 per user per month each on the Growth and Enterprise plans and bundled on Unlimited. The distinction that matters against competitors is that these are modules on one platform sharing one data model and one process engine, not separate products you integrate. The platform capability itself, the no-code studio and the BPM engine, comes with the tier rather than with the modules.

Sales Creatio#

Sales Creatio covers the complete sales lifecycle from lead to close.

Core capabilities:

  • Lead management: capture, scoring, qualification, and routing. Leads can be scored manually or through Creatio AI’s predictive models.
  • Opportunity management: pipeline visualization, stage tracking, win probability analysis, and deal forecasting.
  • Contact and account management: 360-degree customer profiles with interaction history, relationship mapping, and account hierarchy.
  • Sales forecasting: forecast by team, territory, product, or custom dimension. Roll up individual forecasts into organizational views.
  • Order management: create quotes, process orders, and track fulfillment within the CRM.
  • Field sales tools: mobile-optimized interface, check-in/check-out, route planning, and offline access.
  • Sales analytics: pipeline health, conversion rates, sales cycle length, rep performance, and custom KPIs.

Sales Creatio is competitive with Salesforce Sales Cloud and Dynamics 365 Sales on feature parity for most mid-market use cases. Where it differs is in how those features are configured: primarily through no-code tools rather than code or consultant-dependent configuration.

Service Creatio#

Service Creatio handles customer service operations across channels and complexity levels.

Core capabilities:

  • Case management: create, assign, track, and resolve customer cases with configurable workflows for different case types.
  • Omnichannel communication: email, phone, chat, social media, and web portal, all managed from a unified agent workspace.
  • Knowledge base: create and organize articles that agents can reference during case resolution. Customers can access through self-service portals.
  • SLA management: define service level agreements with automated tracking, escalation rules, and compliance reporting.
  • Contact center tools: agent workload balancing, queue management, and supervisor dashboards.
  • Service analytics: first-contact resolution rate, average handle time, SLA compliance, customer satisfaction scores, and trend analysis.
  • Self-service portal: customer-facing portal for case submission, status tracking, and knowledge base access.

The BPM engine underneath Service Creatio is what separates it from simpler helpdesk tools. Service workflows can be modeled as structured processes with branching logic, parallel tasks, timer-based escalations, and automated actions, all configured visually.

Marketing Creatio#

Marketing Creatio provides campaign management and lead nurturing capabilities.

Core capabilities:

  • Campaign management: design, execute, and analyze multi-step marketing campaigns with visual campaign designer.
  • Audience segmentation: build dynamic segments based on contact attributes, behavior, and engagement history.
  • Email marketing: template builder, A/B testing, deliverability tracking, and engagement analytics.
  • Lead nurturing: automated drip campaigns that move leads through qualification stages based on behavior and scoring.
  • Event management: plan, promote, and track marketing events with registration and attendance tracking.
  • Website tracking: monitor visitor behavior and trigger automated responses based on web activity.
  • Marketing analytics: campaign ROI, channel performance, funnel conversion, and attribution reporting.

Marketing Creatio is most directly comparable to platforms like HubSpot Marketing Hub or Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (formerly Pardot). It is strongest in B2B marketing scenarios where lead nurturing, scoring, and sales-marketing alignment are priorities.

Creatio Studio#

Creatio Studio is the platform’s no-code development environment, and it is the single most important thing to understand about Creatio. This is what separates it from traditional CRM platforms and what analysts consistently highlight in their evaluations.

What you can build without code#

Pages and interfaces. A drag-and-drop page designer lets you create custom layouts (forms, dashboards, list views, detail panels) without HTML, CSS, or JavaScript. You define the fields, the layout, the visibility rules, and the behavior, all visually.

Business processes. The process designer is a visual modeler for business logic. You drag process steps onto a canvas, connect them with flow arrows, define conditions and branching logic, set timers and escalations, and assign tasks to users or roles. These go well beyond simple two-step automations: you can model complex, multi-department processes with parallel branches, subprocess calls, and error handling.

Business rules. Define field-level logic (required fields, calculated values, conditional visibility, validation rules) through a rule configurator rather than formula languages or code.

Dashboards and analytics. Build dashboards from a library of chart types, configure data sources, set filters, and arrange layouts. Users can create their own dashboards without administrator involvement.

Custom objects and data models. Create new entities (objects), define fields and relationships, and configure how they appear in the UI, all through the no-code tools.

Why this matters#

The depth of Creatio Studio means that a significant portion of platform customization and evolution can be handled by business analysts and power users rather than developers. In practice, this translates to faster changes (hours instead of weeks), lower ongoing costs (no developer hourly rates for routine modifications), and greater organizational ownership of the platform.

On Salesforce, you hit the limits of declarative configuration (clicks, not code) faster and end up writing Apex code. On Dynamics 365, Power Platform can handle some customization but fragments across multiple tools. Creatio Studio provides a single, cohesive environment that covers a wider range of customization scenarios without code.

When a complex scenario does need code, Creatio supports C# and JavaScript development within the same platform.

Creatio AI#

Creatio has integrated AI capabilities across the platform, with functionality expanding in each release.

Predictive scoring. AI models analyze historical data to score leads, opportunities, and cases. Lead scoring predicts conversion likelihood. Opportunity scoring predicts close probability. These scores update dynamically as new data arrives.

Recommendations. AI-driven recommendations suggest next-best actions for sales reps: which leads to prioritize, which deals need attention, what content to send. Recommendations are based on patterns from historical wins and losses.

Natural language processing. Text analysis capabilities for case classification, sentiment detection, and automated routing. Incoming emails and chat messages can be analyzed and categorized automatically.

AI-assisted development. In newer releases, Creatio AI assists with platform configuration, suggesting workflow designs, recommending field configurations, and helping users build processes through natural language descriptions.

Creatio’s AI capabilities are competitive with what Salesforce offers through Einstein and what Microsoft offers through Copilot, though the breadth of AI features at the frontier is narrower. For most mid-market use cases, the AI functionality in Creatio Enterprise is sufficient. Organizations with advanced AI/ML requirements may want to evaluate the specific capabilities available at each tier.

Who Uses Creatio#

Creatio is strongest in the mid-market (100 – 1,000 users) and in industries where structured process automation matters as much as customer management: financial services, manufacturing, pharma and life sciences, franchise operations, and professional services. The common thread is regulated workflows, multi-step approvals, audit trails, and the need for both CRM and BPM in one platform.

Analyst Recognition#

Creatio punches well above its weight in analyst evaluations. For a company its size, the breadth of recognition is notable.

Gartner Magic Quadrant. Creatio is a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for B2B Marketing Automation Platforms (fifth consecutive year), and a Visionary in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Sales Force Automation Platforms, its ninth consecutive year on the SFA MQ. The 2025 SFA Leaders are Salesforce, Microsoft, and Oracle; Creatio sits in the Visionaries quadrant for completeness of vision.

Forrester Wave. Creatio was the only Leader in the 2024 Forrester Wave: Low-Code Platforms for Citizen Developers, and a Strong Performer in the 2025 Forrester Wave: CRM Software.

IDC MarketScape. Creatio is named a Leader in IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Retail CRM 2024 and a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide B2B CRM Platform Software for Industrial Manufacturing 2024.

Nucleus Research. Nucleus’s TCO study of Creatio customers, most of whom migrated from legacy CRM systems including Salesforce and Microsoft, found a 37% reduction in total cost of ownership and 70% faster implementation timelines.

G2 and Gartner Peer Insights. Consistently high user satisfaction ratings (see Awards & Recognition), with particular praise for ease of use, customization flexibility, and implementation speed.

These are not participation trophies. Analyst firms evaluate dozens of vendors against rigorous criteria, and the breadth of recognition across SFA, B2B marketing, low-code, and vertical CRM categories reflects genuine platform capability rather than excellence in any single niche.

Creatio by the Numbers#

  • Valuation: $1.2 billion (as of the most recent funding round)
  • Partners: 700+ implementation and technology partners globally
  • Countries: Deployed in 100+ countries
  • Marketplace: Growing ecosystem of apps and connectors with a 4.8 average rating
  • Founded: 2002 (originally as Terrasoft, rebranded to Creatio)
  • Headquarters: Boston, Massachusetts (with development centers in multiple countries)

These numbers describe a mature, well-funded platform with a global presence and a two-decade track record. It is also not Salesforce-sized, which means you get a level of attention and partnership from the vendor that larger platforms cannot match.

How Creatio Compares#

We have written detailed comparison articles for the two platforms Creatio is most commonly evaluated against:

Creatio vs. Salesforce#

Salesforce wins on ecosystem size (AppExchange), brand recognition, and talent pool. Creatio wins on no-code depth, pricing transparency, total cost of ownership, BPM capabilities, and implementation speed.

Creatio vs. Microsoft Dynamics 365#

Dynamics wins on Microsoft ecosystem integration (Teams, Outlook, Power BI) and enterprise brand trust. Creatio wins on implementation speed, pricing simplicity, no-code depth, BPM capabilities, and total cost of ownership.

Creatio vs. HubSpot#

HubSpot wins on inbound marketing tools, ease of initial setup, and freemium entry point. Creatio wins on process automation depth, customization flexibility, enterprise scalability, and suitability for complex B2B operations. HubSpot is primarily a marketing-first platform that added CRM; Creatio is a BPM-first platform that added CRM. If your primary need is inbound marketing and content management, HubSpot may be the better fit; for CRM with serious process automation, Creatio is stronger.

What Creatio Does Not Do Well#

Creatio has gaps worth knowing about before you commit. These are limitations in the product itself; whether the platform suits your particular organization is the separate question the decision framework covers.

Consumer marketing at scale. If you need to send millions of emails per month with sophisticated A/B testing, behavioral triggers, and advanced deliverability management, dedicated marketing platforms (HubSpot, Mailchimp, Braze) are more capable. Marketing Creatio is strong for B2B campaign management but is not designed for B2C marketing at massive scale.

App marketplace breadth. The Creatio Marketplace is growing but cannot match the AppExchange’s 7,000+ apps. If you need highly specific third-party integrations, check that they exist in the Creatio ecosystem before committing.

Brand recognition in executive conversations. When you tell a board of directors you are implementing Creatio, you may need to explain what it is. When you say Salesforce, you do not. This should not drive your decision, but it is a reality in some organizational cultures.

Very large-scale deployments. For organizations with 5,000+ CRM users and extremely complex multi-division requirements, Salesforce and Dynamics have more reference architectures and battle-tested patterns at that scale.

Getting Started#

If Creatio sounds like it could be the right fit, here is how to move forward:

Understand the cost. Creatio Pricing in 2026 lists what you pay per tier, per module, and per contract minimum, with nothing rolled into a single headline rate.

Evaluate the fit. Work through our decision framework: Is Creatio Right for Your Business?

Already on Salesforce? This is really a migration question: see the playbook we’ve built for that specific path.

We have spent over a decade working with Creatio because we believe it is the best CRM and process automation platform for most mid-market organizations. But “most” is the key word. Base the decision on your requirements and your data rather than on anyone’s preference, including ours.
